Child Care
Business Initiative

The Child Care Business Initiative provides support for Child Care Providers in the Northeast Kingdom.  We work with existing Child Care Providers, and people who are interested in starting a child care business.

The Child Care Business Specialist can help with:

  • Registering your child care and business name

  • Business plans

  • Contracts and policies

  • One-on-one assistance filling out forms

  • Budgeting and cashflow projections

  • Loan or grant applications

  • Setting up bookkeeping

  • Business Classes:  We will offer a no-cost specialized business class in April and October.  The class will be three hours each week, for eleven weeks, during evening hours.

Contact Celina Wright in St. Johnsbury at (802) 748-6048,
in Newport at (800) 639-4065, or at cwright@nekca.org,
if you are interested in starting a child care business,
or if you are currently a child care provider seeking assistance.

Funding for the Child Care Business Initiative is made possible through a grant from the HHS Office of Community Services, Job Opportunities for Low-Income Individuals.

Collaborating Partners include the Vermont Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies, the Vermont Child Care Providers Association, the Vermont Child Care Services Division, the Vermont Department of Prevention, Assistance, Transition, and Health Access and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
